Drunken Stupidty

             I will never understand why people these days keep pushing the envelope and playing with fire, continuing to drink and drive. A couple of weeks ago, a busdriver from one of the inner city schools was arrested because he was driving a bus full of kids around drunk. I don’t recall seeing what his blood-alcohol level was, but none the less the jackass was drunk. You have to be a pretty low individual to know that you have someone elses kids in your hands, but still have no regard for there lives by drinking alcohol. If that was one of my kids on that bus I would definitely want that person doing some hard time. The only problem is, the way our justice system is ran these days, the man might get a smack on the ass and be driving his bus around a month from now.

              That leads me into my next story. About a day after this story had broke, I had learned that one of my friends from highschool had been out drinking in Erie and made the decision to drive home. Well, he never made it home. I don’t know the exactly what happened yet but apparently he hit a parked car then managed to hit a school bus at 3am causing another accident. Believe it or not, that wasn’t the dumbest thing he did that night. He decided to try and flee from the scene of the accident, so he took off into a nearby wooded area. Only making it about a few hundred yards, he fell to the ground and passed out. From what I have heard, the paramedics followed a blood trail he left and finally found him laying face down. If it had been raining or if the paramedics wouldn’t have found the trail of blood, my friend would have died right there in the woods. From what I understand, he has a ruptured spleen, a crushed sternum, and many other minor injuries. he is out of the hospital and back home. The crazy thing is, that was the second time in six months he has driven drunk and totaled a car nearly killing himself. Luckily no other people were hurt in either accident. The next time I see him he will definitely be getting an earful from me. Some people just don’t learn their lesson until it is too late.
